Don Mueang Airport

Don Mueang International Airport, also known as the old Bangkok International Airport, is one of the two international airports serving Bangkok, Thailand, the other one being the newer Suvarnabhumi Airport (which replaced Don Mueang). It is located approximately 30km (19 mi) north of downtown. Until 2006, it was Bangkok’s main airport. Following renovation, Don Mueang reopened to the public, serving as a regional commuter flight hub and the de facto low cost airline hub. At present, it handles Nok Air and Orient Thai domestic flights, with the international terminal now utilised by Air Asia and charter airlines. Before the opening of Suvarnabhumi Airport, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 were used as international terminals, while Terminal 3 was used as a domestic terminal. On August 2011, all flights (domestic and international) were relocated to Terminal 1. If you have a connecting flight, you should know that all Air Asia flights arrive at and leave from Don Muang).
