Dar Es Salaam Airport

The Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) is the principal aviation facility serving Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s premier city, and financial hub. There are two terminals currently, with a third being constructed to increase passenger capacity, which has seen growth approaching two and a half million people.

Passage between the terminals must be done via taxis, though generally if you are flying internationally, you will likely fly into Terminal 2, as the alternate Terminal 1 tends to handle the charter services. Within this airport, you will find cash machines, bureau de change counters, and banks to help you with any financial administration you may need to do.

To pass the time you will find three restaurants to grab a bite to eat if you’re feeling peckish, and for material items, there is a pharmacy, a few gift shops, and duty-free outlets where you can pick up tobacco, alcohol, cosmetics, fragrances, and souvenirs. You will also be able to find several travel agency desks where you can organise safari trips and tours around the city itself.

Flying to Dar es Salaam from Australia can be done via carriers like Etihad Airways, Kenya Airways, Emirates, South African Airways, Singapore Airlines, Qantas, Oman Air, Malaysia Airlines, and Qatar Airways.
