Mactan-Cebu International Airport

Mactan-Cebu International (often shortened to Mactan or Cebu Airport) is the Philippines' second major airport after NAIA in Manila.

The airport is in Lapu-Lapu City on Mactan Island, 15km from Cebu city centre, and connected to the island of Cebu via a road bridge. Although the airport is small by international standards, it handles 4.5 million passengers every year.

Mactan-Cebu International is the home of the Philippines' low cost airline Cebu Pacific, which offers domestic flights to all major airports in the country. Other local and international airlines connect Cebu with destinations across Asia and the Middle East, including Emirates flights to Dubai, EVA Air to Taipei, Korean Air to Seoul and SilkAir to Singapore.

The airport uses a single terminal building, which is divided into domestic and international sections connected by a hallway. Passengers and visitors can sit down at a restaurant or shop for souvenirs before going through the security screening, and you'll find more duty-free shops and snack bars when you get to the departure lounge.

If you need to use other services, Mactan-Cebu International offers free Wi-Fi throughout the terminal and has a dedicated business room. The airport is very family-friendly, including baby changing rooms and a children's corner, and is designed to be accessible for people with disabilities.

Getting To & From the Airport

Driving hide

Car rentals may be done at the car rental counter in the arrivals area. Parking is available at the airport.

Buses hide

Cheaper than a taxi and less hassle than a jeepney, the myBus service from Mactan-Cebu Airport to SM City Cebu mall was introduced at the end of 2015. This puts you in the centre of Cebu City, next to the Radisson Blu hotel.

The journey can take up to an hour due to traffic conditions, with buses making the trip every 30 minutes between 7.00am and 9.00pm. A single journey costs ₱25 for adults or ₱20 concessions, but you first need to purchase a myBus card for ₱200 which has ₱100 credit loaded.

Taxi hide

Taxis are abundant outside the terminal. Drivers will usually turn on the meter, and if they refuse you can insist or look for another ride.

The yellow cabs are licensed airport taxis, which tend to be a bit more expensive, but also have less risk of an unscrupulous driver. The cost to the city centre should be around ₱250.

If you take a white taxi, the same journey should come to around ₱200, and a tip of up to ₱50 will be appreciated if you're happy with the service.
