Tourists out for adventuresome visits can check out the little-known cities and towns of China can venture to the northwestern side of the country near Kazakhstan. One of the possible ports of entry to the region is Bole Alashankou Airport, which serves the cities of Bole and Alasjmzoi in the Bortala Autonomous Prefecture. It is also nearby the Shuanghe in Xianjiang, a major city in this part of China.
When checking the map, Bole Alashankou Airport lies around 18 kilometres away from east of Bole. One can also see that it relatively near the border crossing with Kazahkstan, which is 50 kilometres from the area. This port of entry is also found between 44.895 (latitude) and 82.3 (longitude), with an elevation level of 1,253 ft above mean sea level. A runway measuring up to 8,530 ft can also be seen here. It accommodates a number of planes offering short-range flights for passengers eager to tour around this part of Xinjiang.
Tourists will find that Bole Alashankou Airport is comparably new. Construction here started in July 2009, with an investment of 320 million Yuan, before it was opened on 2010. Upon landing here, tourists can check out Northern Xinjiang, a place of thick evergreen forest, rushing rivers, and isolated mountain ranges. Other natural sights to revel in here include the Kanas Lake Nature Reserve, a long finger of water in the southernmost reaches of the Siberian taiga ecosystem. There is also Sayram Lake, about 90 kilometres west of Bole. It is located in the Tian Shan range, and an especially beautiful spot to visit during June and July, when the alpine flowers are in full bloom.
Tourists going here can fly through Bole Alashankou Airport via Tianjin Airlines. It flies between the area and Urumqi, one of the biggest cities in Xinjiang. More than three million people live here across the fertile plain in the shadow of the Tian Shan mountains.
