Broken Hill Airport

Broken Hill Airport, on Airport Road in Broken Hill (an outback mining town in New South Wales), is located only about 5km from the centre of the town. The terminal is around five to ten minutes driving time from the CBD, and is quite small so you won’t have to worry about navigating your way around.

If you decide to book a flight from Broken Hill make sure that you get to the airport at least 30 to 60 minutes before your scheduled departure time so that you have time to check in and drop off your luggage.

At the Broken Hill Airport you will find limited facilities to use, including a parents’ room, bathrooms, and an on-site cafeteria where you can purchase a drink or something to eat before or after your flight.

The terminal is also the main base for the South Eastern Section of the Royal Flying Doctor Service. As a result travellers may like to browse through the Mantle of Safety Museum that is located at the airport, and/or watch a ten-minute film about the operations of the Flying Doctors at Broken Hill.

This information is correct as of March 2016.
