 Antalya Airport

The Antalya Airport (AYT) is the primary airport for Antalya, on Turkey’s spectacular Turquoise Coast. Only 13km from the city centre of Antalya, this is one of the nation’s busiest airports, seeing almost 30 million people travel to and from this gorgeous part of Turkey. You can fly to over 40 European cities directly from this hub, making it an easy place to book onward flights from. As this airport started life in the 1990s, you’ll also find that it is a very modern facility with an excellent range of amenities.

There are three terminals, two international, and one domestic, which are linked by a bus service. You will find the bureau de change facilities and ATMs will handle any financial admin you have to do when you arrive, and for your communication needs you can access WiFi, payphones, and post offices. You have to pay for the WiFi access, but there are several cafes and bars that will offer this service for free if you are dining there.

Luckily, there are also plenty of dining options, with popular fast-food and coffee chains, snack kiosks, restaurants, and bars you can grab a drink in if you’re feeling hungry or thirsty, or just need a moment to refresh yourself before or after a flight.

There is a comprehensive shopping scene at Antalya Airport too, with a host of duty-free shops in the international terminals selling confectionary, tobacco, alcohol, perfume, and cosmetics. You can also find local souvenirs, handicrafts and fabrics as mementos for yourself, or for family and friends.

Extra amenities include prayer sites, a medical centre, a business lounge, a conference centre, and a children’s play area. Car rental agencies are also represented at Antalya Airport, with well-known brands like Alamo, Budget, and Hertz operating here. If you’d like to have your transportation sorted before you arrive, hop onto our car hire search tool, which will sift through all of the providers available from this site, and allow you to book your car in advance.

To fly to Antalya, you can book flights with a number of different airlines; these include Turkish Airlines, Emirates, Cathay Pacific, Etihad Airways, Garuda Indonesia, Thai Airways, Singapore Airlines, British Airways, and Qantas.

Travel Information

·         To Antalya central, you only have to cross a distance of about 13km, which can be done in around 20 minutes. Hop on the D400, and follow that road to Antalya until you see the Kızılırmak Cd. exit, and then take that road directly to the centre of town.

·         Buses and shuttles are the primary way of getting into town if you aren’t going to take a taxi, and sometimes hotels will offer this service for free. However, the public buses (in particular Route 600) will run every 30 minutes right to the Antyala central bus terminal. If your hotel doesn’t offer courtesy shuttles, and you don’t fancy taking the bus, it might be advisable to book an airport transfer online with Skyscanner to save yourself having to organise one when you land.

·         Taxis can be picked up outside the airport, and it is common that you will have to haggle. Aim for a price of around 40TRY ($15) to get to Antalya.
