Why fly with Thomas Cook Airlines

Check-In

Evade the queues at the airport when you check-in from home with Thomas Cook’s web check-in service. All you need to do is access Thomas Cook’s check-in webpage and enter your booking reference number to confirm your flight itinerary. Upon confirmation, you will receive an electronic copy of your boarding pass, which should be printed from home. This online service also allows you to submit advance passenger information, update booking details, select your seats and purchase inflight services or baggage allowance. Web check-in opens 48 hours prior to your flight departure and closes 24 hours before departure. As of now, Thomas Cook’s web check-in is only available for departures from selected UK airports. If you prefer to stick to the traditional check-in process, you are advised to turn up at the airport at least two hours before departure for short-haul flights and at least three hours before departure for long-haul flights. Passengers who wish to speed things along may opt for priority check-in at Manchester and Gatwick airports. Thomas Cook Airline charges £15 per adult and £5 per child for priority check-in services.

Baggage Allowances

All Thomas Cook standard economy fares, with the exception of USA flights, does not include checked baggage allowance. Passengers who need to check in baggage are advised to book space for your baggage online or via the customer helpdesk hotline while reserving their ticket or any time before departure. Those who book their baggage allowances online can enjoy up to 40% discount on standard rates. For fares involving USA, each passenger is allowed one piece of check-in baggage, not exceeding 23 kilograms in weight. For passengers traveling on long haul, you can opt for premium economy fare to enjoy 25 kilograms of free baggage allowance. Any baggage in excess of the purchased or complimentary baggage allowance is subject to excess baggage charges. Every passenger is entitled to one piece of complimentary hand luggage when travelling with Thomas Cook Airlines. The hand-carry should not weigh more than six kilograms and must be within the dimensions of 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm. If you turn up at the airport with more than one hand-carry bag, you will be charged an additional fixed fee depending on your travel route. Passengers who are traveling with sports equipment should arrange for carriage before check-in by booking baggage space online. Sports equipment charges vary depending on the type of gear passengers are checking in.

Seating

Thomas Cook only operates a single seating class on board all its aircrafts except for its newer Airbus A330, which operates a Premium Economy Class in addition to the standard Economy Class. Each Economy Class seat is approximately 17 inches wide and has a seat pitch of up to 30 inches. The Premium Economy Class seats, on the other hand, are roomier with a wider seat width of 18.5 inches and more legroom with its 35-inch pitch. Seats also come with adjustable headrests and built-in inflight entertainment systems to complete your inflight experience. Do note that all the above seat features vary across different aircrafts. Thomas Cook allows for paid seat selection during ticket reservations or any time before departure. As assignments are on first come firsts served basis, you are advised to select your seats early in order to secure the ones you prefer.

In-flight Services

All Thomas Cook aircrafts on medium and long haul flights come equipped with inflight entertainment systems. Passengers can keep themselves entertained via the individual seatback TV with a collection of movies, TV sitcoms and music stations. To find out what is screening on your flight, you can check out the online entertainment guide available on Thomas Cook’s website. If you prefer something to read, you can fish out Thomas Cook’s inflight magazine for some interesting travelogues. Complimentary in-flight meals and alcoholic beverages are offered depending on your flight fare. If your fare excludes inflight meals, we would recommend you to pre-book an inflight meal designed exclusively by celebrity chef James Martin. Passengers with special dietary requirements may place a special order online or via the customer helpdesk at least 3 days before departure. Otherwise, those who feel peckish on board can purchase beverages and snacks from the Café Cloud menu.
