Why Fly With Jetstar Asia

Ways To Check-In

For Jetstar Asia flights you can check in a number of ways: online, in person or with the self-service kiosks. For online check ins, this can be done from 48 to 2 hours ahead of your flights, but please be aware this service is available only for international routes. If you choose to use the kiosks or the manned counters, we recommend you head to the airport 2-3 hours in advance of your flight to ensure you can pass through the airport checks with enough time.

Baggage Allowance & Fees

As a Jetstar Asia passenger, you are able to carry on one cabin bag that weighs 7kg or less. This bag must come to maximum linear dimensions of 114cm. You may also carry a personal item, such as a purse, a coat or a walking aid.

If you are planning on checking your baggage, your allowance on JetStar Asia will depend on your fare type. For light fares, you are unable to check your luggage free of charge, however JetFlex and JetSaver travellers are given a free baggage allowance of up to 20kg. Lastly, Star Class fares can bring up to 30kg. If you find that you have excess luggage, you will be charged at a high rate to bring it aboard, so please keep that in mind when booking your ticket class.

Seating

When you book, your seat will be assigned. You can change this assigned seat whilst booking, but depending on where it is in the cabin, a fee can be applied.

Booking Fees

Whether you’re travelling by yourself or with a group, Jetstar Asia makes it easier for you to plan and pay for your trip. Jetstar Asia accepts credit card payments including International Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club, and UATP cards with an additional Booking and Service fee. To avoid this extra charge, Australian residents can pay with a Jetstar MasterCard or Jetstar Platinum MasterCard. If you are paying using this method, the original, physical credit/debit card used to purchase the ticket(s) must be presented by the credit/debit card owner for verification at the airport. Jetstar-issued vouchers are also accepted for part or full payment of your fare and can be used for one time only without any additional fee required. Passengers traveling from Singapore can pay for their booking at SingPost outlets (no additional fee) or 7-Eleven stores (Booking and Service fee apply). This method is only available up to 14 days prior to departure.

In-Flight Service

You will be served meals and beverages if your flight is longer than 45 minutes in duration, though these must be purchased online beforehand. You can buy food and drink vouchers when you book your flight, which is usually the cheapest way to ensure you have a meal on the flight, though you will be able to buy snacks, beverages and meal trays onboard.

In-flight entertainment is available to anyone flying with Jetstar, but if you are an Economy ticket holder, then you must pre-order your access to the system online in the Manage My Booking section of Jetstar Asia’s website.

Children under the age of 12 cannot travel alone on Jetstar Asia flights. They must fly with a passenger that is at least 15 years older or above. For children who are travelling, please ensure you bring identification (even if the flight is domestic) as proof of age.

On-Time Performance

As of April 2016, Jetstar Asia’s performance comes in at 80% on time, making it one of the most punctual airlines in the world.
