Airlines of Tasmania, also known as Par Avion Airlines for some of its services, was established originally in 1978 as a public transport company, and is based in Hobart, Tasmania. The airline flies only within Australia, and its two scheduled flights per week (operating as Airlines of Tasmania) are between Launceston Airport and Cape Barren Island. The rest of the airline’s flights are special charter flights and sightseeing flights (operating as Par Avion) departing from the Cambridge Aerodrome near Hobart, which the company owns and operates.

Ways To Check-In

• All passengers must check in for their flight in person at the Cambridge Aerodrome before your flight departs.

• You must be checked-in at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

Baggage Allowance & Fees

• All passengers may bring a maximum of 5kg of carry-on baggage (not exceeding 48 x 34 x 23cm in size) on board, as well as small personal items.

• All passengers may also take up to 15kg of checked baggage.

• For passengers travelling with an infant, an extra bag containing essential items for use during the flight can be carried on board.

Booking Fees

Booking fees include the applicable fare, any other applicable surcharges, fees or taxes, and any applicable amounts relating to changes to your Booking, which may include change fees and fare differentials. The fee/s must be paid in in Australian dollars unless otherwise authorised by Par Avion Airlines. Surcharges, fees and taxes may also be charged together with your initial booking fee, which were not initially marked on the Itinerary and Receipt direct to third parties.

• Par-Avion Airline is served by Par-Avion Exclusive catering, which is considered among the leaders in executive inflight catering and associated services to the aviation industry.

• The airline also offers inflight bar services, which includes a wide selection of the finest South African wines.

Where We Fly

Par-Avion Airlines offer scheduled flights between Launceston Airport and Cape Barren Island twice a week. It also offers regular flights between Essendon in Victoria and Griffith in New South Wales. The airline has also commenced the Melbourne-Griffith route flight service under the Par-Avion brand.


Airlines of Tasmania and Par Avion Airlines operate exclusively with a fleet of small aircraft which have limited space in the passenger cabin, and hence, limited leg room.
