Baggage Allowance & Fees

Your free checked baggage allowance with Air Tahiti Nui is determined by which fare class you travel on. For Economy passengers, it is one piece weighing no more than 23kg. For Business travellers, this can be two pieces of up to 23kg each, though all bags, no matter what class you book with must measure to 158cm linear dimensions. Please be aware that infants travelling up to the age of two are only given an allowance of 10kg.

Excess charges can be steep if your bag is overweight or oversized, though you can check all associated charges here.

Carry ons are restricted to one cabin bag of up to 10kg, of up to 115cm linear dimensions. Personal items that are acceptable as additions to the carry ons are things like walking sticks, coats, handbags, baby bags, and laptop bags.


If you want to sit in specific seats, then you must contact Air Tahiti Nui 72 hours before you depart and put in your request. The airline will try and accommodate your wishes, but will not be able to guarantee your choice.

In-Flight Service

You won’t have to worry about feeling hungry on the flight either, with a full dining service provided to each cabin class, you will be fed and watered with a mixture of French and Polynesian cuisine. Special meals can also be arranged if you have any dietary requirements, just be sure to inform the airline at least 48 hours in advance of your flight.

Children between the ages of 5 and 11 must be booked into Air Tahiti Nui’s Unaccompanied Minor service. You must contact the airline when reserving your child’s seat and inform them that a minor will be travelling alone so they can advise you of any costs or forms associated with the service. Children between 12 and 14 aren’t required to have this service, but they can book it if they wish.


Standard recommended check-in time is three hours prior to scheduled departure. However, if you have connecting flights, it is recommended that you check-in at least one hour and 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time (domestic to international), or two hours (international to domestic). Take note that the heightened security measures may take its toll so it is advised that you arrived earlier than usual and allot extra time for other concerns that may arise during your schedule check-in.
